Cs 1.6 . Error Running Game Could Not Find Steam.exe To Launch

Many people have reported that after they setup HLDS (Half-Life Dedicated Server) or Counter Strike 1.6 Server, they get an error saying “Unable to initialize Steam“.

From what I understand, this error pops up because of permission issues in Windows 7 and Windows 8 (One of the reasons why I hate Windows 7/8)

1. Mar 03, 2015  'C:Program Files (x86)SteamSteam.exe' -applaunch 251470 This will launch TowerFall via Steam (opening Steam and downloading updates if necessary). If you can't add arguments, you could put this into a Batch file, and, if that doesn't work either, convert the.bat into an exe.
2. From within the RatPoison 1.6 directory, you can start the cheat by running the 'Start RatPoison 1.6' script. If you have chosen to randomize the cheat name, you should open the file ending in.bat which should show as an icon. You can launch the cheat at any time after launching CSGO.

Follow the steps below to fix this issue:

• Open Notepad
• Copy and Paste the following text in Notepad (or Download StartServer.bat)

• Save the file as StartServer.bat
  Make sure “All Files (*.*)” is selected in “Save as type:”
  
• Run StartServer.bat

Edit the StartServer.bat file as per your requirements.

That’s all. “Unable to initialize Steam” error is now gone for good!
